Medical Assistant (Full-Time)

Qualifications & Standards

• Maintain current licenses and certification of BLS.
• Must adhere to the standards and guidelines outlined by Quad A.
• Must be compassionate and sensitive to the privacy of patients.
• Possess phenomenal efficiency and attention to detail.

Patient Care & Clinical Support

• Must be knowledgeable of our procedures to educate the patient for pre and post operative discussion at appointments.
• Provide Physician chaperoning during examinations. Recording of any measurements or discussions during the office visit is documented by the MA in Nextech.
• Photo Management: Take photos at pre-op visit and as needed. Proficiency of uploading of photos into Mirror daily, at a minimum.
• Crisilix Imaging Proficiency.
• Clinic Patient Interactions include Preoperative teaching based on patient procedure. 6 month or any other appointment.
• Escort surgical patients to the 2nd floor surgery suites. Knowledge of dressing room procedure, family directive.

Medical Records & Documentation

• Prepare and maintain medical records to include ensuring signature on the patient's chart.
• Medical records Release of Records Maintenance. Follow procedure of obtaining a signed request for release of patient information. Maintain Google document of requests.
• Documentation into Nextech (EMR). MA must document patient visit of all 6 month appointments and any additional appointment unless physician stated they would document. Objective or SOAP method should be utilized for documentation.
• Chart preparation for pre-op appointments. Preparation includes procedure specific preparation cards, EMR consents opened and ready for patient signatures, nurses to have loaded medication in EMR based on patient procedure.
• Labs Needing Attention duty is to upload documents into Nextech EMR to the correct patient in a timely manner. The copy is given to RN, NP or surgeon and/or notification within Nextech for review.
• Chart organization for surgeries will be prepared each day for the following day in the chart room. Review that all charts are in order for the surgical suite team.

Scheduling & Administrative Support

• Knowledgeable to schedule any patient appointment in Nextech (EMR). MedSpa/Consultation/Preop or Post op.
• Email assistance of clinical team will be monitored throughout the day. Uploading of photos or addressing FMLA or medical release patient questions.
• FMLA completion of records per facility guidelines will be completed within the week.
• Fax machine maintenance. Ensure faxes are checked every 4 hours and must be addressed at the beginning and end of each day.
• Phone call etiquette: The phone should be answered before the third ring if possible. Exception is if you are waiting on a physician and you have a patient in a room.
• Scar salve mailing, if needed.

Equipment & Clinic Maintenance

• Clean and sterilize medical clinic equipment. Used instruments are placed in sanitizing solution in storage room sink, scrubbed and rinsed to dry. Sterilization must be completed weekly, at a minimum.
• Clean/ Restock exam rooms in clinic. Daily cleaning of chairs, surfaces and door handles and as needed. Restocking of room weekly, at a minimum. Deep cleaning of rooms weekly.
• Clinic gown rotation and cleaning will be maintained twice a week.
• Medical Supply ordering will be completed weekly. Amazon orders are received from the clinical team, ordered and dispersed by the clinic team member who ordered the supplies.
